Denise Hedges is a proud Wanaruah woman, born and raised in Singleton in the Hunter Valley, following in the footsteps of generations before her. Her family holds a strong cultural connection to Wanaruah Country — a bond that Denise powerfully conveys through her artwork. Her paintings, rich in colour and symbolism, reflect a deep and enduring relationship with the land.
“I’ve been painting for many years,” Denise shares. “Through my art, I aim to share my love for my culture and help others understand the richness of Aboriginal life in the Hunter Valley.”
