Darkinjung Nation
Judith Franklin is an Aboriginal artist whose family are Darkinjung people. She has connections to the Wanaruah People and currently resides on Awabakal country.
Judith is passionate about her culture and draws from life experiences. She has been painting all her life and in the past 10 years painting in more traditional and modern contemporary styles.
Judith completed an Open Foundation Art course at Newcastle University during 2002-2003 and then furthered her art education at TAFE in 2004. In 2020 she completed a Certificate II in Aboriginal Studies.
Judith has many art highlights, including but not limited to 1st place at Wandiyali Art Competition for NAIDOC July 2022 and 1st prize at Newcastle Art Show Competition in February 2025.
