Artwork by Victoria Macnamara
Gamilaraay Nation
Victoria is a proud Gamilaraay woman based on Awabakal Country, with deep roots in the Hunter region where she was born and raised. Her art practice is grounded in cultural connection and storytelling, drawing on traditional techniques such as Aboriginal weaving and dot painting.
After dedicating many years to raising her family, Victoria returned to her creative path in 2016, studying under Michelle Earl and later pursuing formal qualifications in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts at Hunter Street TAFE. She holds a Diploma of Visual Arts and has been recognised as a finalist in the Sydney TAFE Art Prize.
Victoria’s work has been exhibited in a range of galleries and shows across New South Wales and the ACT, where her art continues to celebrate identity, culture, and Country.
