Les Ahoy is a proud member of the Nunnawunna Clan Group, part of the Anaiwan Language Nation from the Northern Tablelands region of New England, NSW.
Renowned for his deep cultural knowledge and his role as a cultural educator, Les brings traditional stories to life through his art. His work reflects the sacred journeys and creations of his Nunnawunna ancestors, with a strong spiritual connection to Country.
Les is especially recognised for his distinctive sand paintings, which powerfully represent both his Ancestral Lands and Dreaming. He is also widely sought after for his unique family portraits, created in collaboration with relatives and blending traditional symbols with contemporary imagery.
